Cyber Soldier for the Naval Staff Cyber Defense Function

Cyber operations are as integral to modern warfare as land, sea, and air operations. The Naval Staff's cyber defense function is responsible for defending the Navy's information systems in the cyber domain, aimed at ensuring operational effectiveness and freedom of action. As a cyber soldier, you will work in a critical capacity in a rapidly changing environment that requires deep IT expertise.

About the Unit

Your tasks as a cyber soldier in the Naval Staff's cyber defense function include collaborating with other team members to detect threats, identify and prevent attacks on the Navy's systems, and develop the Navy's command support systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in cyber defense while actively participating in exercises and developing methods and tools.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct log analysis and incident management to detect threats and identify and prevent attacks on the Navy's systems
• Participate in the development of methods and tools for cyber defense of the Navy's systems
• Prepare materials for the Navy's situational awareness in the cyber environment
• Train and inform colleagues in the field of cyber defense

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Completed military service as a cyber soldier with a passing grade
• Good knowledge of how operating systems, encryption, and networks function
• Basic knowledge of one or more programming languages
• Knowledge of how to attack and defend IT systems
• Strong ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who is analytical and meticulous, with a strong interest in cyber defense. You are responsible and have a good ability to work both in a team and independently. Your problem-solving skills are high, and you can work flexibly and at different paces to switch between time-sensitive and more long-term tasks.

Personal suitability will be given significant weight.

Employment Type: The employment is within the framework of the Armed Forces' collective agreement for the employment of group leaders, soldiers, and sailors (GSS/K). This means that the employment begins with a 6-month probationary period and then employment for up to 8 years with the possibility of extending for up to an additional 4 years.
Employment Rate: Full-time.
Work Location: Muskö. Travel may occur as part of the job.
Start Date: As soon as possible by agreement.
